I might as well make my first post about my future project Redemption. Maybe this will inspire me to actually put it together and stop messing around 😖
If I can figure out how to make it work in print so that it can still be collected like a regular floppy or omnibus I think I’m going to go forward with it. I don’t want to alienate the true collectors. I think that’s why DSTLRY’s comics don’t get much buzz in that magazine format
I had the thought of making my comic in a splash page format so that when looked at digitally it would be in landscape mode. With print it would be interesting to do but I think it would present the story in an interesting way that would force people to kind of read it differently
I just came back on here to say fuck chuck dixon…long live Daniel Warren Johnson

It's about time Strange Days finally begins getting the retrospective love and respect it deserves. To me, it's the best pre-Matrix cyberpunk film other than Blade Runner and Robocop, and still better than most cyberpunk films made since.

30 years ago, Katherine Bigelow made a sci-fi flop that changed her career for the better
Strange Days is a noir-soaked science-fiction thriller set against a backdrop of racial tension, police brutality, sexual assault, and disruptive tech

Sad to hear Drew Struzan passed away. His posters were often better than the movies they were for, but The Thing is head and shoulders my favorite of his work.

Take a few minutes to appreciate Drew Struzan creating the original artwork for THE PHANTOM MENACE. Truly a master at work.

D'ANGELO has passed.
This man's work must be responsible for the births of thousands of people, and you adults know what I mean.

after getting over the initial shock I got a follow-up "oof" remembering he was just in the Sly Stone doc talking about how white rock stars get to grow old and comfortable

RIP to the man with the greatest three-albums-in-20-years career in music history

So do White people in the west just believe it’s okay to resurrect the dead to make them dance and perform for your pleasure?
Is this a cultural difference?
Because where I come from, disturbing the dead usually comes with consequences.
Bad ones.

One thing that I’ve come around on in comics is it used to seem corny and childish that a bunch of guys would call themselves the Legion of Doom and meet in an old castle where they’d be like ”hiss let us defeat the ideas of hope and love hiss” but that’s what they’re actually doing in real life lol
