i genuinely do not understand why he keeps digging the hole deeper on this one
KARL: I mean, you could swear in Adelita Grijalva tomorrow, right?

MIKE JOHNSON: No, not tomorrow. We couldn't. We wouldn't.

Don’t let the frogwater that’s boiling us alive let you skip over this: we murdered another country’s citizens in cold blood, and when their leader objected, we called him a drug dealer and cut off aid to his country. That’s freakish.
Petro objected to the US bombing a Columbian fishing vessel that had the emergency beacon on because they were broken down, that we subsequently bombed. One Columbian fisherman survived the attack.

This is the official US response to Petro's comments.
PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Trump calls Colombian President Petro an ‘illegal drug dealer’ and announces an end to US aid to the country.
Gorgeous little town.

Finally came across video of an arrest at a #NoKings event yesterday. 🙄
Glad if the coverage but No middle aged people showed up, huh. And it's only about immigration.
These photos were carefully chosen. Not a single middle-aged or older protestor in sight. Unbelievable.

1. Home color laser printers are cheap and I've had one for years, pro-rated toner about $0.20
2. 4 sheets of 8.5x11 labels is $1.33
3. $2 for a sheet of black foam board
4. A stick from my garage and four staples

I'll be waiting for my three dollars.

couldn’t agree with this more. conservatives in casual conversation will say the most out of pocket shit you’ve heard in your life but we’re out of touch if we call them out or judge them for it because they get a benefit of the doubt never afforded to progressives.
The reason for this is that this class of people has internalized the idea of conservatives as the American Volk, an idea downstream of the senate and EC giving them more power than their numbers that has somehow become a quasi spiritual belief about the nature of the country

KARL: What do you make of Trump's pardon of George Santos?

JOHNSON: POTUS has the right under the Constitution. We believe in redemption

K: But is it ok for Trump to say he's pardoning someone bc they always vote Republican?

J: That's one snippet of what he said among many things about Santos

At this point, if you're interviewing a Republican about the president's latest transgression and you *don't* have the video or post or whatever cued up and ready to show them when they pretend they haven't seen it yet -- I'm just going to assume you're in on the con yourself.
It depends on which definition of performative is in their thoughts.
He's definitely on the road to being the most lawless and harming the most people.
I would postulate it's not performative because it gives often isolated people a sense of community. Especially those in red and purple states. It makes people feel less hopeless and more willing to fight.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.
Not sure he outdid Andrew Jackson or James Buchanan in first term. But he is trying now.
I second.

i love when people from other countries are like “does the US know how bad things are???” and it’s like YEA WE’RE AWARE
Tonight the president of the United States posted a video of himself wearing a crown and flying a jet that dumps diarrhea all over the United States.

Seriously. He actually did this.

The Trump shit video is basically this, but I will reiterate that if a Dem is critical of conservative voters it’s a generational scandal and when Republican pols literally post themselves shitting on their opposition virtually the entire elite politics and media class treats it as fine and normal

@nytimes.com @washingtonpost.com @cnn.com are you going to write about the president of the United States posting a clip of himself literally dumping shit on Americans, or is it nbd?

the right insists they are the new "silent majority" but in reality they are a minority who grabbed the mic and never shut the fuck up
there is no way the right can put 7 million people in the streets
