Blue patriots fighting red patriots over the rotting carcass of an empire while they both stamp out the seedlings of true rebellion. That's what is really happening in the US in one sentence.
Yup, they've been very active this morning after missing most of their operating window yesterday because of the rain.

As soon as rain started clearing, Border Patrol began terrorizing Mount Prospect and Rolling Meadows
Never been more thankful for gloom and rain (ICE is quiet right now)
And just like that when the rain stopped there has been confirmed sightings in Rolling Meadows, about 25 miles out from Chicago proper.
Very minimal ICE/CBP activity in Chicagoland today, this feels nice.

We took the night off from watching Illinois state troopers beat people up after several weeks of watching Illinois state troopers beat people up. Predictably, they are again orchestrating an enormous response to a small protest and dance party in an area that's already barricaded for protesting in.

this story 💔
In her first interview since he was killed by federal agents, Silverio Villegas González's partner Blanca Mora talked about the impact his death has had on their family.

Be sure to read this moving piece by Alma Campos about Silverio's final journey back to Loma de Chupio, Michoacán.
A Tragic Homecoming
The casket of Silverio Villegas González rests inside his family’s modest home in Michoacán.

Imagine two FBI agents today sitting next to each other's cubicles, unknowingly fedposting at each other.

One is like "you must fly a drone brother"

The other is like "no brother, we must lay peacefully on the ground brother"

The DHS Twitter has been tagging and calling out a local journalist writing on immigration in Chicago. Local journalists covering what’s happening need continual support especially as they write these important stories.
Drones and stranger helicopters are just a daily occurrence in Chicago now I guess.
He's former GOP self proclaimed ex-Tea Partier. He probably agrees with a lot of nasty conservative policies but doesn't like how Trump is going about it, so this kind of statement reveals his true colors.

If anyone's wondering how this is possible, the answer is these strike teams are moving terrifyingly fast. Grab first, ask questions later. We were about 8-15 minutes behind them today for several hours. They're jumping out of vans, chasing people across lawns, taking them from bus stops, etc
30 people disappeared in this shaded area today.
During today's adventure my cheap plastic whistle broke, I guess from blowing it too hard. But thankfully I was able to acquire a metal whistle from a kind volunteer and it comes labeled with ICIRR's hotline for legal assistance with ICE abductions.

their names were lewis sheridan leary, dangerfield newby, shields "emperor" green, john anthony copeland jr., and osborne perry anderson

only anderson, who was born a free man, was able to escape the slaver and his hangman
#OtD 16 Oct 1859 abolitionists led by John Brown, including Black people recruited by Harriet Tubman, raided a federal armoury in Harpers Ferry, WV, to get weapons to arm enslaved people. Several were killed, and Brown later executed for treason stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/8828...

I saw the helicopter, Border Patrol was operating in the area, so I'm assuming it was with them.
Very heavy CBP incursions right now and this morning in Back of the Yards and Gage Park. But as I stand witness, Chicago is not backing down.

Some of the beauty of the East Side. From when I last went a few months ago. A beautiful community w/ history & culture. ✨
ICE and CBP has been here so long now that I can recognize individual agents just based on their bone structure, walking gait, and eyes/eyebrows.

Chicago’s East Side neighborhood has a history of being one place where industry concentrates its most polluting elements. That environmental racism plus the release of multiple forms of chemical weapons today exacerbates terrible health consequences for a mostly Latino working class community.
masked federal agents used multiple canisters of tear gas + other chemical munitions on a crowd of residents in chicago's southeast side around 12:40 p.m.

neighbors had gathered on a residential intersection following a morning during which dozens of border patrol agents terrorized the community.

Thinking about how much of their violence has been normalized already, how scenes that caused shockwaves 6 weeks ago are now part of the rhythm of daily life. Watched a TikTok from a daughter who has to do her parents' laundry & get their groceries because they're in hiding. This is just it now

Of the 1,000+ people ICE detained in Chicago since September, DHS has presented only 10 with criminal records. Federal data shows the number of detainees nationwide without criminal records has soared to 70%.

Rogers Park and surrounding neighborhoods were hit hard by immigration enforcement activity over the weekend.

There's no competition here, but I want to name that the same heavy, violent, fast-moving abduction pattern has invaded the southwest side about three times a week for over a month now.
