That's right. It's time for part 3 of the FPS series; this time, a lot of assorted thoughts on what makes for good enemy design. This one was fun as hell to write.

building a better first person shooter part 3: enemy mine
So! First, we talked about a specific subgenre of first person shooter, loosely starting with Unreal and Half-Life and dying off around…

Today Promesa is 5 years old!

Don't have much to say, other than I'm proud of my little boy, and I have the itch to do some more of these.

They made me reach so far to touch the sign! It's a good sign, though.

but I don't feel like I can ask unless you think my articles are of some use to you.

So I'm gonna hawk the article a while longer. I'm sorry if some of you find it annoying, but it's the only way I feel comfortable asking for help.

The only way I feel like it's okay for me to ask for help is if I can provide something in return. These articles are free. I don't paywall them, because I know what it's like not to be able to afford access to articles.

So, if you LIKE what I've written, please tip. It's a fair trade.

so yeah, if you like these:

1) please share

2) please tip

That's all I'm asking for. I know shit's tight for everybody, I'm grateful for everything and I try to send a thank you to everyone I can (some of you have the ability to thank you through paypal turned off though)

I wanna be clear: I don't have medical insurance anymore because I couldn't afford it. I'm not asking for coverage on that. Yes I'd love if some very nice person with lots of money would send me $5k and solve my immediate woes; I figure my trilogy of FPS articles is worth $20 for some of you

I'm going to keep sharing my article for a week. If you would like me to stop doing that, please hit my tip jar.

I have a VERY big bill I have to pay through no fault of my own, and if you could help me with it, I would be grateful.

I've just wrapped up a huge trilogy of articles (like 40k words)
if you like my writing, this month is REALLY urgent, as I need to raise a TON of money to pay my tax bill, which the state is making me pay early because, I shit you not, I did my taxes. Apparently a change to the balance, like filing taxes/extensions is bad

paypal.me/stompsite would help a LOT

Today I lost someone who was truly like a brother to me. I am gutted to the core. I guess I can say so now that it's on his Facebook page. He even listed himself as my actual brother on Facebook. Anyone who knows me knows how close we were. RIP, senpai. You will always be a ninja.
sorry. i didn't see you there. i was thinking about the fredwreck remix of riders on the storm

I'm immensely grateful to be surrounded by brilliant people who are kind enough to include me in their various projects and pursuits. I just wish some Money Havers would deem one of those projects a viable enough path to inflating their own wealth that they sweep us a few crumbs off the table.

Damn, he was only 58.
Former Team Ninja boss Tomonobu Itagaki has passed away, as confirmed by his Facebook and personal friends. "Words of departure - my life's light is about to run out." www.facebook.com/tomonobu.ita...
Itagaki's farewell post, which I will not be translating in full because I don't want to do it an injustice. It says it was posted by someone close to him. Itagaki's final photo of himself, sitting in a restaurant, looking off into the distance.
