Sometimes you just have to watch William Shatner’s 1979 presentation of Elon John’s “Rocket Man.”

Not because it’s good, because it isn’t. But because it’s also perfect.

Stop. Buying. Teslas.

Elon Musk is a white nationalist. Anyone who needs more data points to reach this conclusion is beyond help or persuasion.

If you buy, rent, service, or supercharge a Tesla you are supporting the most powerful white nationalist on earth. Period.

Musk is funding the legal battle of UK Far Right activist Tommy Robinson - real name Stephen Yaxley Lennon - as he faces charges brought by counterterrorism police.

Seems indicative of market manipulation by this administration, and insiders are making millions. Trump makes an announcement to panic the market on Friday, then walks it back on Monday. Rinse and repeat.

What's more costly for automakers - propping up sales with deep discounts to sustain EV market share/growth going forward, or letting the market decide and putting tens of billions of dollars in future EV investments at risk? It's a precarious burden that ICE vehicles have to hedge in the interim.
EV makers fill tax-credit void with costly discounts
Many automakers are digging into their own coffers for big discounts to keep EV inventory moving, and several brands have introduced models with prices more comparable to gasoline vehicles.

I think road courses would be more interesting for an EV series.

More of an exhibition series at first, and maybe a way to expand a non-traditional fan base? Things are well under development...

QOTD: What was your favorite stepside pickup?
dennieedwards.bsky.social
I've said this before, but the NASCAR Truck Series should just be the Cup Series now, as it best represents the current vehicle market and fan base. That would also leave an opening for a new EV race series without an expansion and schedule challenges. 🤷‍♂️

Still thinking about that Chevy FNR-XE Concept from China a few years ago.

For starters, we can close the loophole for federal bumper standards on crossovers and SUVs.

This is my counterpoint to any new "innovation"

If you can't do it better, cheaper and more reliably, what's the point?

And we wonder why new car prices are far outpacing inflation - so much unnecessary cost, either to fix what isn't broke, or add complex, superfluous features that a majority of car buyers won't even use.
