On my way back north after attending the unveiling of the new rail clock at London Bridge; the timepiece is all at once disarmingly simple and delightfully ingenious…

like basically everyone who works in software I embody this tweet and do not under any circumstances want to talk to my computer

Tech enthusiasts: My entire house is smart.

Tech workers: The only piece of technology in my house is a printer and I keep a gun next to it so I can shoot it if it makes a noise I don’t recognize.
I don't know if this is true more broadly, but west coast swimming & water polo has been in the MPSF not Pac12 / rPac12, whether or not people want to go this path, I think there's precedent & good arguments for having the mega conferences be for revenue sports vs smaller alignments for all others

many conversations I have had with complete normie libs, the kind who have a tote bag from donating to NPR and shop at Whole Foods, involve the kind of rhetoric that under no circumstances should be put on the internet

people are very mad
look i was recently talking to a septuagenarian life long dem (who shall remain nameless) and generic lib, and she was like “i just think there should be firing squads and they should sell tickets.”

Think about this for a brief moment. Think of just how fecal and vicious a man has to use such a term in this context. This is leadership by the absolute worst of us, the most vile trash that we could scrape from the gutter and elevate to govern a nation.
I think you're fundamentally right that it doesn't do a dang thing about the earlier identification of players who are being ignored already and will continue to be ignored if the non-academy path remains funneling to college, b/c that maintains a lot of system biases. So there.
I think the people saying this is badly aligned to the structure of the women's game in this country are right, and this shouldn't be treated as "one size fits all." I also am dubious that this isn't just USSF trying to cheap out on building a proper U21 / U23 pipeline. AND!
I did something rash and read the article. The longer split season seems like a net improvement for student athletes. The regionalization is just being realistic about the impacts of conference realignment for football. HOWEVER!

I dunno man, sounds kind of like you want a handout
Georgia farmer: No farmer wants a handout. We don't want a welfare package. What we want is good, strong markets. We want inputs to stabilize

Every time you see Mike Davis do Mike Davis things, think about Gorsuch reportedly helping land Davis a job at DOJ, then choosing him as a clerk when he was on the 10th Circuit, then choosing him as a clerk when he was on the Supreme Court.
Hakeem Jeffries posted pictures of two Rep. Members posing with “Young Republicans” who were part of a racist text thread (as reported by Politico).

In response, Mike Davis (well-connected in Trump World & on the Hill) called Jeffries a “house slave” for George Soros - proving Jeffries’ point.

Hundreds of homeowners in western NC can’t move on with their lives because FEMA has not approved a single application of its homeowner buyout program since Hurricane Helene hit last year. That’s simply unacceptable.
