Heather Humphreys called herself brave today for withdrawing the Green Paper on disability and claims she did so after consulting with disability groups

not only did Humphreys never meet with members of the Scrap the Green Paper coalition, she didn't even reply to correspondence
Reposted
extraordinarily, Humphreys made this claim on the radio while Catherine Connolly was at an event organised by Disabled People and Carers for Connolly on the rights of disabled people and carers, with many members of the Scrap the Green Paper coalition in attendance. a very striking contrast

also, just a while after Humphreys was patting herself on the back for passing Catherine's Law, Catherine Gallagher was speaking from the floor at the Disabled People and Carers for Connolly event about the toll going public with our suffering to force change takes on disabled people and carers

bit.ly/flaevents

An intriguing one-hour long talk on the superstitions, beliefs and practices surrounding death in Ireland, plus audience Q&A.
Join us for an intriguing one-hour long talk from Michael Fortune (folklore.ie) on the superstitions, beliefs and practices surrounding death in Ireland.

November is a month associated with the dead and remembering in Ireland, and the talk will range from death customs and funeral practices to signs and omens. This talk will be relaxed and informal and he will share content he recorded, heard and experienced over his life.

About the speaker:

Speaking in October 2016, the late writer and broadcaster

Manchán Magan stated that

“There have only been a few true pioneers in the field offolklore collection in Ireland, guardians, sacred recorders of ourlore, who have collected and documented the treasures of folktradition, and without doubt, Michael Fortune is one of them. Inyears to come, he may be regarded as Ireland’s Alan Lomax.”

This talk will be presented online, via Zoom, and will be followed by a Q&A with the audience. All ticket holders will receive access to a recording of the talk after the event, so if you cannot attend the whole event live you won't miss anything.

So, people are going to have to pass A level english to live here are they? I hope they study what I did at A level, Translations by Brian Friel, about the colonial evil of the English forcing people to adopt the English language

Please give blood if you can. If you're not sure, the IBTS has a quiz you can take to see if you're able to. You could save a life. I've been donating since 2022 when they changed to a person-by-person risk analysis.

People don't realise how malicious the 'reforms' proposed by Heather Humphreys to disability supports were. Very few people appreciate the work put in by disabled activists to resist those reforms or the lasting damage caused. No apology or even acknowledgement, HH is not a President for all #Áras25
I was one of the leaders of Scrap The Green Paper because I & my friends were suicidal after learning proposals for ~84% of disabled to be pushed into work

I've not recovered from pushing myself to fight it, nor my friends

I'm so broken & Humphreys wants a house in the park on our backs

Browneshill Dolmen • Carlow

Ireland has around 170 recorded portal tombs, also known as dolmens. They were constructed during the Neolithic period, from around 3800 BC onwards.

The capstone at Browneshill is enormous! It is estimated to weigh well in excess of 100 tonnes.
