Daily brushing this week paid off, nearly all of his shedding kitten frizzy coat is gone, just turned 6 months. Adult teeth in. He’s growing so fast! His ears are HUGE still !! But he’s so cute and handsome, with wonderful playful mischievous personality. Prince and I ❤️him 🐱 #cats #kitten

Friday evening and feeling happy out. Drinking coffee (yep, late night ahead), working on cave bones tonight from our excavation at Castlepook cave 2024, Prince & Pooka fed and happy, sleepy and will get zoomies later. Cold windy night but stove lit and office warm. Trance music.
Happy out ☺️

I’m sorry but I don’t have a sale today. My handmade pottery mugs are as cheap as I can price them without losing money.

I’m only one person with one finite life and a full-time job hand-painting 30 blood drip layers on each mug. 🩸

Order by Monday for Christmas delivery: littleedenpottery.etsy.com

it’s all been a mental with work and research good few weeks. I dip in and out but haven’t been posting much apart from my two furry companions, who keep me grounded. I want to keep connections here, so will endeavour to post at least once a day, be it cat/kitten related or bones. Deadlines galore!

We conclude that this highly selective exocannibalistic behavior likely reflects inter-group conflict during the Late Pleistocene, when Northern Europe is marked by diverse Neandertal cultural traditions, but also the arrival of Homo sapiens.

The mix of four adult females and two infants is extremely unlikely and reflects deliberate selection of individuals/targets by the cannibalistic group, whose own remains are missing but were almost certainly Neandertals. 👩‍👩‍👦

Despite the high fragmentation of the remains, we were able to dress the profile of these individuals.🦴

Adults were all gracile females, non-local and possibly originate from different groups. Also, they show among the shortest stature ever documented for Neandertals! 🤏

Our study integrate morphology🦴, paleogenomic🧬 and isotopic⚛️ data to document cannibalism at the Troisème caverne of Goyet (Belgium) 🇧🇪

The results indicate the presence of at least four adults/adolescents females and two infants among the human remains, mostly composed of lower limb bones.

Did Neandertals choose their prey when practicing cannibalism?🍖

Check out our new study, just published in Scientific Reports - @natureportfolio.nature.com!

We provide the strongest evidence to date for a highly selective cannibalism at the end of Neandertal lineage, 41-45.000 years ago.

Head's up there is a Bluesky ban scam going around. This account just joined 40 mins ago and send me this DM.

DO NOT CLICK THE LINK.

Bluesky would NEVER send a DM like this and make you scared. This would come through email and would have a more professional email than this.

Stay safe!
