A small-time loser sells his soul to a demon for racing tips, of course he was tricked and now the demon is collecting his prize.

The loser begs his bookie for protection arguing he'll never get the money he owes if he's dead. The bookie agrees to help even though it is as crazy as a soup sandwich.

Imagine my disappointment when I learned this Spuds Mackenzie album from 1988 is just a compilation of other artists and not 45 minutes of Spuds howling and barking over a dance beat.

Still some great stuff here.

On May 18, 1980, Richard Lasher shot this epic photo of the eruption of Mount St. Helens

Lasher was forced to abandon his Pinto and flee the giant plume of ash on his motorcycle

Lasher survived, his Pinto did not
I'll never believe him as one of The Animals unless he knows House Of The Rising Sun

I'm proudly Canadian. My country is under economic attack by the orange turd. I appreciate every American who stands up to his craziness. No Kings!

Writing about PRINCE OF DARKNESS prompted me to rewatch PRINCE OF DARKNESS and reminded me that PRINCE OF DARKNESS is top-tier Carpenter with my absolute favorite of his many awesome scores.

And I would submit that no genre filmmaker is as consistently great at endings as Carpenter.

Sometimes the writer knows when NOT to put any words to a page and just let the art do the work.

Good morning! It’s Saturday October 18th 2025! Already? Crikey!

(Dated this very day in 1980, just 45 years ago, 2000AD #182, with its all-time classic cover by the great Brian Bolland featuring Judge Dredd.)

You be careful out there among them English, Joanne Book.
