Thrilled to chat with @manruss.bsky.social at his signing at Crossover Comics and surprise him with a nicely intact Prez promo bumper sticker from the original run.

We need to be like Prez more than ever!

“The smartest design move isn’t chasing trends, it’s planting the tree and letting time do the work,” writes Dave Snyder. “Trees don’t pay off tomorrow. They pay off in a decade. They compound quietly, making everything around them better…” [designobserver.com]

SPINE has been released on itch! You can download your PDF or a printable booklet today to start playing!

I'm keeping it FREE through the end of October.

SPINE is a solo tabletop RPG that looks like a book. It is your anchor to the fictional world, a prop, and a work of art — a keepsake — that you co-create, all in one.

In SPINE, you quite literally embody a researcher who is reading and marking up the physical book in front of you.

I love the cat-and-mouse game of LinkedIn folks anonymizing the titles and companies of folks viewing your profile.
Feel this in my bones...
I described that despite popular belief, the reality of being a Lead Writer isn't as much "does most of the writing" as it is "Big Spreadsheet ™️" and lemme tell ya I am feeling Big Spreadsheet this morning

Uh-oh. Left my water bottle in yesterday's Communauto rental.

Better than losing a pair of prescription sunglasses, though!

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

When it was clear that Warriors of Waterdeep was going sunset, all promotion stopped. I had hoped for a final season of the Actual Play, but it wasn't meant to be.

I saw some of the community-building learnings be applied to other games in the roster, and had a bunch of ideas for the next time!
The long-term benefits of the exchanges didn't translate into the short-term blips needed to unlock marketing spending.

"We can buy IG ads and see the results immediately!" was the constant argument. But those new players never stayed.

Ah well.
I was only able to offer the link exchange and no money. The classic "for exposure."

I'm not sure the technical hassle was worth it, especially if the codes didn't work and people who were purely interested in finding gift links were being obnoxious in chat.
