Unpaid air traffic controllers say government shutdown puts flying public in danger

Controllers met travelers at O'Hare Airport asking them to demand elected officials end three-week-old shutdown. They say the loss of furloughed support staff who keep critical systems running is adding to their workload and stress, which in turn endangers flyers.

A great exchange at ALPA was when an audience member asked the AI panel if they’d considered the cost of AI (including environmental) & if it factored at all into their decision to use it. Not one had any idea how much using it cost, on any level. They were all kinda dumbfounded that he asked.
