Acer saccharum, the sugar or "rock" maple (depending on whether you're intent on vampirizing its vital fluids, or if you want to vivisect it with terrifying steel blades) is a common sight around here during autumn, and arguably contributes much aesthetic interest to the seasonal landscape.
