I haven’t seen anyone talk about how Jane Doe - an Epstein survivor - just sued the Bank of New York Mellon for funding Epstein and failing to file a Suspicious Activity Report. A Mellon heir is the one who gave $130M to pay the troops. Seems bribey to me.

NOAA hurricane hunters flying aboard a P-3 Orion aircraft ("Kermit") are monitoring Hurricane Melissa as most aircraft steer clear. The storm poses a catastrophic threat to Jamaica and Haiti.

The crew are among the many federal workers working without pay during the US government shutdown.

A map image from the Flight Radar 24 service shows the flight track of a NOAA P-3 Orion aircraft flying over the Caribbean Sea, where Hurricane Melissa threatens to bring catastrophic rain and flooding to Jamaica and Haiti. Most other aircraft appear to be steering clear of the area.

Often, the difference between a pet keeping their home or being surrendered the simply the ability to afford to feed them. Pet food pantries are vital resources in keeping pets with their loving families and decreasing the burdens on overflowing shelters.

We have already seen sharp increases in pets surrendered or abandoned as the wealth gap widens & housing becomes more & more unaffordable. With the rising cost of groceries & now the cuts to Medicaid & SNAP, the pet homelessness & overpopulation crisis figures to become even worse again.

In addition to money donations to food banks & food aid for people, please also consider donating money or food & litter to pet food pantries. Many people who rely on SNAP to feed themselves will now need to redirect $ to buy groceries that they would have spent on pet food before.

Bernie lost because of the DNC. The DNC establishment so badly wanted Clinton to win because it would be a historical first woman president and many in the DNC wanted to ride her coattails into the White House for cabinet and federal positions.

SNAP is probably the most effective federal dollar we spend in terms of long term domestic economic outcomes.

that isn’t why you should support it; you should support it because it is a moral imperative to feed the hungry.
