Very rarely, they’re pretty brave these days even when I pick them up to put them in a container while I clean the tank! So they might just be used to me.

Yes yes yes. I have decaf green almost every night (but pretty much year round).

We need to push for a federal ban on the use of tear gas on civilians and in civilian areas. It's unacceptable.

Just think about this, they dropped so much tear gas near the ICE center that a school had to close because it had become toxified by the residue and was unsafe for the kids.

Thanks for sharing them!!

Photo of a hand holding up a small risograph print of a cute illustrated pink snail on a lime green background. The snail looks happy with sprouts around it and bubble letters that say "keep going!" above it. Illustration of a happy looking cute kitty character eating a big piece of candy corn while surrounded by more candy corn. Its colors and markings look like the candy corn itself. Photo of a pastel square blue zine that says "Lucky Buns, Roll for a Cute Bonus" on the cover with an illustrated D20 and a cute bunny face. Another copy is laying opened showing a "how-to" page and cute black and white art inside. Black and white drawings of various characters (cute humans, dog, robots, and more) for Little Rocket Lab which appear on sticky notes in the game's journal.

Same, I’ve never had one and never want on. I’m so creeped out by how many cameras are probably watching me every time I walk the dog in my own neighborhood. I get that some people do need some security but at least get a camera that only records on your own closed wifi then.

Gouache illustration of a black cat wearing a scarf with various geometric patterns on it. The scarf is in warm shades with some green accents. Watercolor illustration of a bunch of colorful pumpkins, with a beige striped cat sleeping on top of them curled up into a ball, slightly resembling the round pumpkins itself.
Traditional fan art in watercolor and colored pencil. It’s an illustration showing the Pokémon Ampharos, with a little Togepi in its arms, standing among bushes full of yellow flowers. A small house, trees and electrical poles can be seen in the background, with Mt. Fuji faintly hovering over them in the distance. Traditional drawing in mixed media of a white cat with a yellow straw hat sitting inside a blue cardboard box. It’s surrounded with other boxes full of oranges.

A landscape painting of a warm pink and purple sunset with a rainbow arching across the sky and dipping below the red tree line. The rainbow is made of small pink, yellow and blue stars. A landscape painting of a birdseye view of green farmland and large white clouds hanging low over the fields. One cloud hiding among the others is shaped like a four-point star. A landscape painting of a green forest with a pond in the center. A large white star descends from the pale sky, surrounded by a double halo A landscape painting of a red, pink, and purple forest with a stream running through it. Three large stars with halos hover just above the surface of the water, reflecting below.

Here's some of my favourite personal work!
A digital illustration of a purple figure with a flat expression and their hands up grasping weakly at colourful looping shapes with bold black lines. Some have yellow eyes at the centre, they obscure most of the figures head, neck and shoulders. A digital illustration of a colourful moth with swirly leafy details in its wings and a pastel rainbow ombre body. It is framed by swirly leafy shapes also in pastel ombre tones, and a rainbow spiral with circles showing the phases of the moon in yellow and white. The large full moon rests at the centre of the spiral and under the moths right wing. A sigitL illustration of a white bat with 2 heads and eight wings in flight. It has no eyes and each wing is a different colour: blue, green, yellow, orange, red, pink, indigo and violet. It is framed by pastel sparkles and a gold ring border with a repeating pattern of eyeballs around it. In the outer corners are feathery stylised purple wings, and circles showing the phases of the moon. A digital illustration: a parody of memento mori still life paintings but it's arranged on a beach and has a 'goth summer' theme. Objects include a skull, sunglasses, globe beachball with a witch hat on top, romance books with a knife stabbed in the top, a cocktail with an eyeball in it, a poison punch bottle, suncream, fang sweets, melting icecream, shells, bucket and spade, beach bag and towels. They are framed by a grey beach umbrella, deckchair, and a footprint in the sand.

Warning bug photos. The beetle bunch is still doing great and every evening go about their silly little antics. First photo you can see one playing dead (because I moved the tank to clean it, he got up two mins later haha) which is how they got their name as death feigning beetles.
Closeup photo looking into a desert themed terrarium with two blue death feigning beetles in foreground. They are light powdery blue with textured exoskeletons. One is standing, the other one is flipped over with legs in the air pretending to be dead as a defense mechanism. Photo of a small blue death feigning beetle in the palm of a hand. Closeup photo looking into a desert themed terrarium with sand, a blue death feigning beetle is standing next to the glass.

Warning, bug photo.

The walking blueberries (aka blue death feigning beetles) continue to seen happy! Every time I cleanup the tank I move things around for them to explore.
Photo of a blue death feigning beetle, it’s a light powdery blue with a textured body. It’s walking on some dry leaves around branches and a seed pod in a sandy terrarium.

I’m very very tired of “living in fear” being lobbed at maskwearers by people who frequently say they can’t wear one because no one else around them is.

Living in fear is ignoring science and endangering lives and your own health because you’re terrified of not fitting in.

Every day that I see headlines about how much money has been pumped into genAI I feel sick. We’d have a new golden age of creativity if we had put all that money towards supporting human creators and their projects instead of a plagiarism machine. Not a single friend would be unemployed.

GenAI is an exploitation machine. I'm always in awe of claims that it can be anything more because reality proves over and over again that its users can't imagine anything better than exploitation.
