A pretty remarkable organization that has been able to mobilize worldwide and were on the ground in Alaska during the flooding in 2022 as well

Yes. My mentor bestie taught me in the 2000s: "They'll put you down for being in education or a government job until the recession comes, then they'll demand your job for their kids who couldn't get into law or med school." ☕

And let's not talk about the skilled trades and other blue collar gigs...

Fun little reminder that before Bari Weiss was destroying a large media outlet, she was just a random blogger arguing for subminimum wage for disabled people. 😉
(This post is about listening to disabled people.)

Yes your taxes should support disabled people.

They should support homeless people.

They should support those living in poverty, children and the elderly.

This is literally the purpose of taxes, and I would far rather support those who need it than continue to enrich the elite.

For state Senate maybe, but not for DC. Also this guy's..everything off. After he got out on disability he worked for Blackwater as a security consultant before turning to oyster farming. The milk is not clean

This isn’t a peace plan. It’s a ceasefire. Why is the media calling it a peace plan?

George Floyd should still be here to celebrate his 52nd birthday. His life sparked a movement, and our fight for justice, accountability, and humanity continues. We’ll never stop saying his name.

Screw mentorship

Some of handing things over is letting ppl make mistakes

This is also about helicopter parenting

I understand that there are right ways and wrong ways to have the age conversation about Dem leadership and I don’t know how I feel about specific solutions like age and term limits. I do know THIS PART HERE is a problem bigger than any one individual 78-year-old and it’s making us all furious

I think my biggest betrayal is that it feels like they have not nurtured upcoming generations. we've watched them cut the knees out from people who get the base excited instead of mentoring them, it's aggravating as fuck.

We act like wanting to change your name is weird

It’s only weird in this stage of capitalism

Look at any mythology or religion

Look at any story ever
It’s only bc if $$ that they want your name to be the same

See also patriarchy

Something I think about a lot is that before the era of lots of paperwork and government IDs and all that bureaucratic stuff, people used to change their names ALL THE TIME.

Apparently my great grandmother changed the spelling of her last name to make it more Irish and less Scottish.

Yeah. Different but I used to have to fight with insurance about how slow release nexium did not work for my child every 3ish years. Thankfully puberty healed their stomach. Sadly puberty made all ADD meds throw the mood off for my other but I still play ADD med game for 1

Not that anybody comes to me for Maine politics, but the fact that the Democrats successfully convinced a 77yo Governor to primary the 41yo progressive, is today's example of why the Democrats fucking stay failing.

Susan Collins is 72 and if Schumer gets his way, she'll be the YOUNGER choice!

OR, and hear me out on this. The person who is seventy-goddamn-six and termed out of the governship should put their political machine at the disposal of whoever wins the Dem primary, not hold onto elected office with a LITERAL death grip.

Massive peaceful protests are *important* against a violent regime for a large number of reasons: striking fear in their hearts, establishing a habit of courage amongst our citizens, and opening lines of communication.

Hahaha. I’m German and they did it to us. So I know they did it but more so to others. What is this nonsense. Our name is already closer to English than some.

The Agents of Change cohort is designed for preachers to explore who they are - as a leader who steps into the pulpit regularly - and how they use that position of power within their community to bring about the transformative work that leads to justice and liberation.
