my sources in DC are telling me that trump has obviously diminished capacity and the people around him are taking advantage of him
I’m hearing trump has obviously diminished capacity and the people around him are taking advantage of him. Is there any truth to this?

I didn't take pics but the feeling of being in a group of people with no visible beginning or end was so thrilling. The opposite of online anomie, and a living counterpoint to the wary, isolated, compartmentalized world the shitheads want to make. It's simple and obvious I guess but it means a lot.
Sorry to be corny but the aerial shots of these crowds are almost indescribably moving and hopeful

7 million. That’s like 2% of the population. One out of every 50 Americans was physically protesting today. Amazing.
New reporting reveals over 7,000,000 Americans participated in today’s No Kings Day rally.

~1,000 at No Kings in Menomonie WI, population 15,000 and change. Reddish county, purple state.

After a week of ridiculous Republican smears and Trump claiming that “very few people are going to be there,” you just made history. #NoKings

A terrific AFP fact check uses reverse image searches to expose how a White House video took scenes from Florida, Texas, South Carolina and Nebraska and lied that they showed "Chicago is in chaos."

I hope each and every one of the fascists who rule this country read this and choke.

Elites collapsed and capitulated. Regular people never did. #NoKings
Remember back in January when all these sage politics-knowers were writing about how there had been a vibe shift and now the resistance was over?

lol. lmao.

this rocks. when indiana edu killed the student newspaper, Purdue stepped up, printed the forbidden issue, drove it to Bloomington and stocked the boxes.

notice the general mood of the timeline? how everyone is in a good mood and there’s a lot less misery and dooming? how there’s a lot of “we’re going to beat these assholes”?

anyway that’s why these events are important
Was at a #NoKings event in Freeport Maine this morning — there are protests there with some frequency but the turnout today was much, much more than anything I've seen there before.

Great turnout demographically too. Smalltown ME protests tend to be mostly retirees but this was *everybody.*

"I'm a huge supporter in the gay community out here."

I know there's no way to fact check the whole story but I wish Wired had fact checked this claim. I bet you could contact every lgbtq org within a 200 mile radius and not a single one of them will have even heard of this guy.

What do I know and I'm not saying it's a magic bullet or anything like that but it sure seems to me that Dems should run hard on the Argentina bailout. Not anywhere near the worst thing Trump has done, but i suspect it's unusually clarifying.
Jeffries: "It's perplexing to us that Rs refuse to spend a dime to protect the healthcare of the American people, but somehow the Trump admin found $40b to bail out a right-wing wannabe dictator in Argentina in ways that are also going to continue to hurt our soybean farmers in Iowa & the Midwest"

No Kings Boise had a bigger crowd than his military parade, but you gotta remember he gets his intel from Tulsi Gabbard.
Trump on No Kings: "They have their day coming up. I hear very few people are gonna be there, by the way. But they have their day coming up and they want to have their day in the sun."

A nationwide backlash to AI data centers is brewing.

And for good reason: while AI enriches Big Tech CEOs and props up the stock market, data centers are sucking up communities’ water and power.

When the AI bubble bursts, the rest of us will be stuck holding the bag. Be warned.

the president using the office to punish americans that didnt vote for him should really be one of the biggest scandals in americas history
Trump is upfront in saying he will use the shutdown to punish Democrats, and here are the receipts. About $27.2 billion cut from Dem districts compared to about $0.7 billion in GOP districts.
We all complain about the media, but need this type of in-depth journalism.
