Do we still need stories about an aspirational immigrant who's so devoted to his adopted country that he regularly puts himself in danger to help even those who fear and distrust him, and who's primary antagonist is an egotistical tech billionaire?

Yes, fucking obviously. You numpties.

Rest well Peter David. You shaped comics for so many of us. You will be greatly missed.

Ah Jesus. Deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Peter David. One of the greats.

A lot of people are going to (very rightly) call attention to his work on the Hulk, which was character-defining.

But I'd also draw attention to his "Spider-Man", "X-Factor" and "Aquaman" runs.

ANDOR is a stunning achievement (not just for Star Wars, but film/television in general). Tony Gilroy, Diego Luna, and company have crafted the definitive commentary on modern society and politics. The best Star Wars show of all time.

Quite enjoyed #Thunderbolts.

It is a little too “jokey”, and needs a stronger second act, but it’s a clever interrogation and exploration of “superhero fatigue”, using it as a springboard to tackle millennial existential ennui and the collapse of American self-image.

#Andor Season Two is phenomenal.

“Andor” is the best franchise television show since “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.” It is easily one of the three best “Star Wars” things ever.

The second season is thoughtful, methodical, ambitious, literate. The best thing I’ve seen on TV this year.

I don’t really miss the grind of doing weekly episodic reviews or recaps, but every once in a while a show comes along that you’d love to get to write about weekly. Where it feels like there is that much going on.

I’d love to write twelve pieces on the second season of #Andor.

#Sinners is sublime. Virtuoso pop crowdpleasing cinema with a delightful cast, a playful sensibility and rich atmosphere.

It’s a film about art, commerce, ownership and the deals with the devil artists navigate. A great time at the cinema.

Woooo!! New American classic right there. This is gospel. About 4 different sequences that had me thinking career-best from Coogler. Superb on all fronts. Exquisite cast but Miles Caton blew me away. Ludwig - I can only bow down. 🎶Thematically resonant and fun as hell. #Sinners

Al Ewing's Immortal Thor will end with July's issue #25, setting the stage for a new volume, also by Ewing, later this year, per Marvel. (Cover by Alex Ross)
All-timer of an #ImmortalThor today…they’re trapped in a maze and a magical being introduces the gimmick of a coin flip as to whether they (and you, the reader) progress further or go back a page to start it again. @al-ewing.bsky.social does it again, this had to be an insane issue to write!
