Of course, that’s not what he was saying. He was pointing out what was obviously true to anyone alive then - there was a big backlash against Muslim-Americans and anyone with an Arab-sounding name right after 9/11. But Vance has to be an asshole 24/7 for his MAGA troll fans.

"Women are not usually into science fiction"is legitimately one of the stupidest, most divorced from reality sentences I have ever read in my life

Imagine if in another country the president’s masked army racially profiled in opposition areas as he enriches himself (even raiding the treasury), oligarchs renovated a massive ballroom for him, and his unofficial top advisor said he won’t leave.

Is this how democracies end?

The Constitution is not self-enforcing.

The only thing holding our Republic together are our norms.

And the only thing that enforces those norms is The People.

No one is coming to save us.

It's entirely up to us.
Maybe the big takeaway for Cuomo from the last ten years of Trump's political successes is that a critical mass of American voters might see sexual harassment and assault as troubling, but in the ballot box ultimately don't see it as disqualifying. He probably figures "might as well try!"
In the audience tonight is Charlotte Bennett, one of the 13 women that Andrew Cuomo is credibly alleged to have sexually harassed while they worked in his government.

She can't speak for herself because Cuomo's lawyers have hounded her.

So I confronted him.

DISMAYED to find this piece of trivia one day AFTER my lecture on Bentham and Utilitarianism
Scrolling through my 5,000 photos on my phone, trying to organise them into albums, and stumbled on this important piece of journalism from 2022 🀣🀣🀣

This is how a dictatorship works
Trump: "It looks like we're gonna have a Communist as the mayor of New York. But here's the good news -- he's gotta go through the White House. Everything goes through the White House. At least this White House it does."

We always used to say satire was so good in Russia because you really had to up your game since reality was so absurd. These are my thoughts upon seeing the president tearing down the White House.
Also most of the paintings at IAH are acrylic on canvas. Sometimes all you see at the museums is oil paint so it's easy to get the impression that acrylics are "kiddie paints." But IAH is showcasing some good acrylics!
