Human rights underpin our everyday lives, often in invisible ways but always there when you need them.

Easily sacrificed for political expediency. Hard felt by all of us when gone.

This is the Murdoch Times saying the quiet part out loud.

“Forcing” trans people to use the wrong toilets.

The entire plan is about coercion and endangering trans people and, as I said recently, nothing whatsoever to do with principle.
The Lib Dems are not on your side, folks
Transphobes don't just hate trans people, but they're generally quite shit - racists, islamophobes, shit politics, that's what they stand for
When I said our fight is one, I meant it, the same people coming after one minority also target others
Legitimate concerns need space, hate doesn’t

Protest bans are a ‘display of state power’ - should we celebrate the police banning protests, when they are likely to weaponise their unprecedented powers against anti-racists in the future?

Imagine the impact it would have if - as a bare minimum - Government departments, ministers and No 10 posted stuff *first* on other platforms than X. Westminster as a whole would move over.

It is pure masochism or idiocy not to do so.

We say “an injury to one is an injury to all” because we must stand up for eachother.

Utterly condemn this attack. None of us are free until all of us are.

Solidarity Mothin.
It’s all the same system; anti-trans street harassers & “respectable” eliminationists, islamophobic & xenophobic “patriots” & the racist politicians who echo them in the halls of power. Those who try to divide us are not on the side of the 99% & the bile they spew produces this abuse as much as

If your shifting ideal for housing migrants is now some sort of barracks that should be located far away from the domestic population and completely isolated from amenities and infrastructure of regular life then it sounds to me like what you really want, whether you realise it or not, is a camp.
Lib Dem MP here expressing concerns that “migrants” (in fact asylum seekers, or “human beings”, as they’re also known) might be allowed to live next door to people, and near a high street

Gender Identity Clinics are a segregating bottleneck to gender-affirming healthcare 🏥

An informed consent model of care is vital to tackle the backlog & deliver trans people health equity 🏳️‍⚧️

That’s why the Green Party will abolish GICs, funding & training GPs to care for trans people equitably 💚

I take no pleasure in this. As a Green, I have a lot of disagreements with LibDems on economic issues, but I want every party to be trans inclusive.

LibDems rejected this move at their conference, so it is bad for both internal democracy and trans people.

Their leadership needs to grow a backbone.
This is what happens when Lib-Dem MP's and party administrators don't come charging out the gate and bodyslam misogyny against all women whether born cis or trans. If the Lib-Dems can't defend all women with the same vigour they are shit at their job.

We are horrified but not surprised by this. No one connected to the Magdalene laundries should be involved in making law on any subject, let alone trying to push laws which endanger women who are doing sex work. Sex workers say no to the Nordic Model.

germany allows for no gender marker or an x as gender marker and I made an active choice to not do this because this effectively creates a list of trans people for the government. no gender marker for anyone please.
This was barely covered, but the US regime made it harder for people with "X" on their passports to fly. Creating a de facto no fly list of nonbinary and trans people.
People who use they/them pronouns face documented employment discrimination. Is that material enough for you?

We tried to place this story - very expensive polling, the first of its kind, strong quantitative data about what trans people feel about Britain: bluntly there is no better way to tell the story - with the BBC but it said it was "too weak".

But it will pick up any old piece of transhating garbage.
In @yougov.co.uk polling of the trans community, to the best of our knowledge the first of its kind ever conducted, an astonishing 84% said Britain is “fairly unsafe” or “very unsafe” for trans people.

This is to be quite frank, fucking obscene.

Peston & team should be ashamed of themselves.
Is the Reform MP who says she’s driven mad by TV adverts full of Black & Asian people a racist or realist? How many migrants would the Tories expel? & should the UK be selling fighter jets to Türkiye?

This is the same “legitimate concerns” phrase that was used as a get-out-of-jail-free card for broadcasting transphobia on TV and in the newspapers for ten years.
Conservative Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp repeatedly refusing to say that he thinks Reform MP Sarah Pochin saying she doesn't like seeing black people on TV was racist.

Says he wouldn't use her "language" but it's right for her to express "legitimate concerns" about migration
