If I were writing an 80s style action movie and wanted the audience to understand without a doubt that Generic Evil Country is in fact the bad guys, and I had them do a tenth of the shit Israel does every day, the producer would tell me it was too on-the-nose to be believable.

To be honest I doubt the spirits of dead people are still among us. That said, when bad events happen they can leave *something*, even if that's just a feeling. I suppose that's what ghosts are

This is an obvious promotional piece, but it's good to know Cardiff is the most haunted place in Wales. As someone who used to live across the road from where this city's most notorious murder took place, that doesn't surprise me a bit

Phillipson is scared being transphobic will harm her deputy leadership bid and hasn’t actioned this…

…and the EHRC have been publicly called out by the Council of Europe because the position puts human rights at risk…

…so someone is getting desperate.

We've written to @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social to request the government to revoke the 2011 services code and make our updated version statutory. It accurately reflects the law and updated guidance is urgently needed: www.equalityhumanrights.com/media-centre...

Starting to get panicky the Government has seen through your overreach? The European Commissioner certainly did. You met him directly in the summer, he told you what you proposed was a breach, and you continued anyway.

In other news, I've been wondering, what does that 'HR' stand for in your name?

Do you ever worry that while you are sleeping at night a huge red insect will creep into your house and drink your blood?

In #JapaneseFolklore there is an insect #yokai known as tsutsugamushi. They are large and red with huge jaws and long antennae. They live deep in the mountains but come out at night and creep into houses to drink the blood of sleeping humans which can cause all kinds of...

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the UK countryside is full of interdimensional portals. You just have to know where to look.

Israel limiting aid into Gaza because of a few dead bodies tells you a lot about the direction of travel vis a vis this deal

You wouldn’t be able to see Marilyn Monroe in Game of Thrones because she died 39 years before it was made. What would be able to do would be to burn down a forest in order to see a lifeless puppet that vaguely looks like her riding around on slightly less lifeless dragon

It’s for English language. 36,650 were entered for English literature. The numbers are just for England

I found the numbers for this year as well, and the entry numbers are down for both
Provisional entries for GCSE, AS and A level: summer 2025 exam series

According to the government’s own figures only 13,010 people were entered for A-level English last summer, and the number of people taking it is dropping

Also any job that actually requires an A-level standard of English is already going to be asking for it

The Spectator (owned by GBNews owner Paul Marshall - estimated wealth of £800 million) doesn’t like taxing wealth fairly.

I wonder how they got to this editorial decision?

Let’s tax wealth fairly, fund front line services & make hope normal again.

Today marks the Double Ninth Festival a day for climbing mountains and honoring elders. In this 1980s photo, three ladies wear chrysanthemum garlands to celebrate Chongyang, once a rural autumn rite, later reborn as a symbol of unity and endurance in modern China.

Such as people in Sex Matters, who have been driving the anti-trans shift in government policy.

The right-wing campaign group that helped topple Roe v Wade in the US is now working to roll back abortion laws in the UK, with the help of Nigel Farage.

Its first step? Trying to create a debate around "free speech"
