Putting myself in time out because I recognized a song I’ve never heard before as by Steel Panther.
Interview with the Vampire S2e7 is among the greatest episodes of television ever. I feel like this show does not get enough hype.
This is mask off because if we give up on the causes that matter, what’s the point of getting elected other than personal power for the politicos?
lol new clown car just rolled up
The formula for a Bourne film is:
1. Bourne was minding his own business
2. Bourne is blamed for a major NATSEC snafu
3. Bourne has to kill a lot of people while running away
4???
5 Matt Damon profits.
Jason Bourne (2016) knew what was coming with big tech the same way The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) knew what came out of 9/11.

Rewatching the series and the villain is always our fear of government overreach in the name of national security.
Can someone explain to me the PHENOMENON that is drive-thru espresso stands in rural Washington state? This is the highest concentration I've ever seen.

AND a majority of them aren't even bikini focused. They're just legit coffee shops in tiny buildings.
All I do is stress, stress, stress no matter what.

Got money on my mind, cuz I can't get enough.

And every time I walk in the building all of the prices go UP...

And they stay there!

And they stay there!

Here is what Ian got wrong.

It’s starts in the “where is the counter narrative” argument.

There is a counter argument narrative. Ian simply dismisses it for the same reason so many men do.

The Left’s argument is how men are created is the problem.
This is inherently unresolvable for men.
OK so feeling slightly apprehensive about this, which I suppose is kind of the point. This is an attempt at a progressive view on masculinity and on men getting laid. God help me. iandunt.substack.com/p/how-to-be-...
How to be a man
The right story narrative about male attractiveness is grounded in Social Darwinism and free market economics. Can progressives tell a better story?

Also, holy shit, the "low value male" bullshit puts them MICROMETERS away from an understanding of class consciousness if someone in their lives would just take the time to nurture empathy in these jokers.
Where's the "Make manifest to men that their desire to get laid doesn't supercede others' rights and to think otherwise is amoral and anti-social" write up?

Why are we giving ground on the specious import of unrestrained male libido? Aristotle would have a fit.

Bloomberg reporting that the FBI redacted Donald Trump’s name from the Epstein files.

Here’s the thing. Redacting a name doesn’t mean it’s NOT there. It confirms it IS there.

Donald Trump IS in Epstein’s list of abuses. Fascism wasn’t a deal breaker for MAGAs—I’m afraid pedophilia won’t be either😳

FYI, it’s not a weak job report—a weak job report would be 120 or 130K—this is a calamitous job report.

73,000 is a recession-is-coming number.

It's really weird to demand accountability from a NYC mayoral candidate for a deadly NYC shooting rather than the current NYC mayor, an ex-cop who campaigned on a "tough on crime" platform and promptly got indicted for crimes
Wall Street Journal headline and deck: "New York Shooting Puts Mamdani on the Spot Over Policing Views: The killing of four people in a Midtown office building rattled a city where mass attacks are rare and violent crime has declined."
Listen, I know it's not targeted at children, but other than that, @dropout.tv fills a very Mr. Rogers shaped hole in the world. They're entertaining sure, but they bring a sense of chaotic joy and hope for a world that can be, if we only make it.

July 25: A weak dollar makes you a hell of a lot more money. It doesn't sound good, but you make a hell of a lot more money with a weaker dollar than with a strong dollar

asking every white person in congress if they condemn the KKK would produce some incredible interviews
this reminds me of the period in american politics when pundits would demand that any black politician of note — really, any black person in politics with a national audience — “condemn farrakhan”
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro chides Zohran Mamdani for not condemning other people’s antisemitism:

“He left open far too much space for extremists to either use his words or for him to not condemn the words of extremists that said some blatantly antisemitic things.”
I’m a big fan of the subtle ways that Andor expanded on the design choices of McQuarrie’s originals. Like, the fact that all of the office cubicles are sunken with raised, central walkways to mimic the design of the star Destroyer bridges.

Reddit is suing Anthropic for training its AI models on Reddit data without permission.

For a while it looked like Reddit was going to build a big business selling access to user data to LLM companies but besides Google they didn’t get many takers it seems.

So here come the lawyers.

100 billionaire families spent $2.6 billion in the 2024 election.

70% of these donations went to Republicans.

Now, Republicans in Congress are gearing up to slash essential programs to pay for another round of tax cuts predominantly for the rich.

This is what oligarchy looks like.

And when they've broken everything and made people's lives worse in dozens of different ways, the GOP response is going to be complaining that the government is broken and we need to try New Things instead.

No, it was working. They broke it.

Don't let them weasel out of responsibility.
It's remarkable how much of this administration's agenda has been laser focused on simply making life worse for ordinary Americans.

Russell Vought, acting head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, has canceled plans to introduce new rules designed to limit the ability of US data brokers to sell Americans’ most sensitive data, credit history, and Social Security numbers.
Constitutivism attempts to work within these constraints and, I think, comes out with a compelling vision of metaethics.
I’m compelled to think of it like a like an engineering problem anyway. Morality/Justice is the Work we want a moral system to do, but it needs energy put into the system, so we need human motivation to drive that. Yet there are other constraints on what a moral system is.
