PSSST! Wanna read an actual bona fide trans goddess write about her personal history with Aerosmith's "Dude Looks Like a Lady" music video? You are in luck!

This has got to be one of my top five favourite pieces of film writing this year.

All hail Cerise Howard 🖤

Holy SHIT man

Andrew on stage with Anne's corpse is the gothest thing I've ever heard tbh

(Deleted my last reply because I am an illiterate buffoon)

FUCK YES here are my nominations for the mother and Saffy:

Current obsession: photos of Siouxsie Sioux and Pam Hogg over the years getting absolutely munted together

Stu! Congratulations!!!!
what i love is that in 1990 judas priest got brought to trial over the claim that subliminal messages in the recording "better by you better than me" caused two suicides and now in 2025 openai seems to be generating a suicide a week with its superliminal messages and the US government is funding it
In the Issue 115 Special Dossier with My Formative Queers, Cerise Howard offers "A Personal Meditation Upon a Particular Video Clip – and Others of Its Ilk – With a Lot to Answer For."
Callner and Response: A Personal Meditation Upon a Particular Video Clip – and Others of Its Ilk – With a Lot to Answer For – Senses of Cinema

Are things easier for rich people? Yes! Does that justify using tech trained by stealing work, including from others from low income backgrounds? No war but class war my good bitch

Little else boils my piss more than people playing the class card to justify using AI.

I grew up dirt fucking poor and my parents instilled in me from the day I was born that if you love something or someone, you 👏 have 👏 to 👏 put 👏 in 👏 the 👏 work 👏 because 👏 nothing 👏 worthwhile 👏 comes 👏 easy 👏
All AI music does is devalue the work done by human artists. It’s not accessibility, it’s exploitation. We need real protections for artists against AI!

BTW — even if you had access to this AI startup as a child, you still wouldn’t know how to make music.

(That's a pretty great answer 💜)

What the FUCK are we doing Danielle

I can count on one hand the number of film critics in Australia I know who do it as a full time job, but can only speculate how many of them actually make a viable income from it with no other revenue streams.

My gentle advice for aspiring film critics in Australia: honey, this isn't a real job here. I've been doing this for 20 years: last year I earned exactly minimum wage for mostly foreign clients, so 1/5th of that goes to the tax office. You needing another job to support this doesn't reflect on you 💜
hey, if you're looking for something creepy for the weird grrrl in your life, my book of poetry is a solid pick 🖤

and you can support your local indie bookstore when you buy through bookshop: bookshop.org/p/books/bite...
