Remember: “If conservatives become convinced they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy.” — David Frum
When I said it was “human” that word choice was meant to convey both good and bad.

Whenever I worked at the mothership of the firms I was with, I always preferred the trading floor to my office level/area because at least it was lively. I preferred it to shut office doors and cubicle clusters.

you've gotta admit the NCAA has an incredible sense of comic timing
Now official: College athletes and school staff can bet on pro sports, beginning on Nov. 1.

All three Divisions have voted to approve the change, per the NCAA.
Ah, well…opinions differ I guess
Speaking from experience, are you?

All of the pilfering, vandalism, and outright death caused by DOGE cuts, and all of the thefts from the future by illegally stopping research grants, didn't save a penny, Trump spent the money and more on corruption and incompetent ICE goons.
Total federal spending is up +7% in 2025 over 2024 year-to-date to Oct 20.

The story that the fed govt is tightening its belt is contradicted by its own real-time expenditure data. Admin spectacularly hammering some things but raising spending elsewhere.

Was -7% just after Inauguration Day.

The only question for Mike Johnson should be "why did you dissolve Congress?" And when he predictably lies or changes the subject, repeatedly follow up with variations of "so why aren't you doing your job?"

The Speaker's opinions on anything else matter little if Congress is artificially on leave.

It flies under the radar because it is overwhelmed by the sheer repulsiveness of the physical destruction of the east wing, but there is no way that a president should be allowed to use private money to change public property. It circumvents the power of the purse.

Reminder that DOGE was a rounding error - did a ton of damage, saved little in the scope of the federal budget. Better understood as a mechanism for undermining the administrative state and pursuing ideological objectives than as a way of reducing federal spending.

Each of these corporations has big federal contracts, is currently doing business with the Trump family, or has active antirust cases before the courts.

Everything is for sale.

In 2023, Binance was fined $4.3 billion for processing billions of dollars worth of crypto transactions involving sanctioned jurisdictions, including Iran, Russia, Cuba, and Syria.

This enables the worst regimes in the world to benefit the President's corrupt crypto business.

I feel sorry for their kids and everybody around them
I’m in my mid-50s and just concluding recovery from ACL surgery. I could pass that right now, without difficulty.

The fact they can find so many absolute losers who can’t pass an open book test or a physical fitness test that lax confirms all my biases about fervent racists.
Same. I called his election the biggest threat to the US since the War of 1812, but…
It’s a trading floor. There are a million things to criticize JP Morgan and Dimon about, having trading floors that look like trading floors is not a compelling one.

Having worked at a large investment bank, I can tell you the trading floor is a lot more human place than the rest of the joint. 🤷🏼‍♂️
Having met many Ole Miss grads over the years I am surprised to hear that they have standards

I was at a journalism conference last month and someone on a panel said that the single biggest source of misinformation in the world today is the US Government and every day reaffirms that observation.
You cannot trust any statement any branch of the government makes at this point.
After the FBI denied "children were zip-tied or hit with rubber bullets" in a raid in Wilder, Idaho, the FBI said no "young" children were.

The updated statement came after KIVI-TV sent FBI photo reportedly showing 14-year-old U.S. citizen in zip ties.
He is successfully bullying our allies while everything he is doing is giving China more cards to play

The farthest west and farthest east points of the US (including territories) are both named Point Udall. That means America's day begins and ends at Point Udall.
