Seriously. One of my coworkers found the button to “turn off” AI images on our work Pinterest, only for Pinterest to keep displaying AI flagged/tagged images 😩 like we can’t even turn it off!

Bikes + transit is an unbeatable combination!

I am pleased to report that putting my ebike on the bus to work and then riding home is as joyful as I had hoped it would be!

Now’s a great time to think and read about gender and urban planning (it’s always a great time to think and read about gender and urban planning):

Seattle Mayor Harrell offers sweeter tax deal for developers: Raising rents on apartments subsidized by taxpayers to provide “affordable” housing. Instead of subsidizing the rent for people who need it, we are subsidizing developers’ pockets” with this proposal.

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

It’s so real. I looooooove biking and it’s been my primary mode of transportation for the majority of my life, but the lack of appropriate infrastructure (even on brand new bike routes!) can certainly make it terrifying

Love a bike commute 😌

Until a boomer who “just wants to turn right on red” pulls into a crosswalk on a newly constructed bikeway and almost takes you out 😩

I’d guess that there are a lot of parallels!

It's nice to know that "organized retail theft operation" is now copese for "shoplifting sting" just like how "anti-human trafficking operation" is copese for "prostitution sting"

GUY 2: Nah, that's just the graffiti task force
GUY 1: And over there–is that an immigration raid?
GUY 2: Nah, they’re just doing a crackdown on street food vendors
GUY 1: When the jackboots come how will we even notice
GUY 2: Shhh, not in front of the surveillance camera

What's this, a comedy show that's over by 9 on a Friday night and is ok for kids (as long as they're ok with themes of alienation and failure)??? And our next mayor is gonna be on it???

Earlier this year, @realchangenews.bsky.social vendor Don Lowe passed away. He cultivated a community of 50+ friends who cared for him in the last part of his life. They pooled their funds every month to pay his rent for more than 5 years. It truly shows how an act of kindness can snowball.
