Playing Earthbound for the first time ever in 2025 is fascinating, actually. You're just a kid and the world's gone mad. All the adults are useless at best or trying to kill you at worst. Ironically, for all the talk of how bad the city looks, I have not had this much fun exploring in a Pokémon game in years.

The way you need to find ways onto the rooftops to get items, and that rare Pokémon lie in wait around every corner, is more compelling to me than the open world!
