My OC Jennifer Sherwood (secretly a masked vigilante called The Shadowvixen) is set in a pulp version of 1910s America. So, apart from the historical tensions that make for great plot ideas, and the typical pulp adventure tropes, it juxtaposes a modernish heroine vs. societal norms of that time.
