Yeah the Screenshot API does be looking like the best option, and all the cool kids are using it.

I did get the SVG approach working tbh so I am going to try that some more - just would have liked the ability to use HTML/CSS that could then get turned into an image locally (Without resorting to something like Puppeteer for screenshots, which is heavy)

Ahhhh (screaming), so this didn't work out for me either 😅

Got it half-way working after a bunch of problems, only to find out the font type I have (.woff2) isn't supported by satori, which this uses.

Back to SVG maybe... or web page + 11ty screenshot api 👀

Got it working with SVG and then turning that into a JPEG 🥳 but I feel a bit slow developing something cool in SVG alone.

So I went looking for something else, turns out there is no shortage of og-image approaches for 11ty.

I hand-created the SVG in VS code but initially used straight lines. I asked copilot to turn the straight lines into cubic bezier curves with a vertical start and end and it had no problem doing exactly that.

フォトショの資格取ったとき、試験範囲にペンツールでのパス作成とかあってめちゃ練習したなー（写真の切り抜きもそうだったけど、クオリティで減点されるから気を抜けない）

the thing that's interesting is that LLMs struggle with CSS, but they're surprisingly good at using SVGs for visual layout!

I've been experimenting with a side project using SVG as a base document format and -- early stages -- it's been promising for model reasoning.
