The staff at Price Chopper (NH supermarket) said they were removing all self check out. Too much stock is going out the door without being scanned - both intentional and unintentional.

Life is so expensive, I'm always trying to find a way to pay less, comparing products' price depending on the supermarket, comparing internet price, phone plan etc.

Yeah, they employ management with demonstrable track records of success, they have a fine roster of cyclists, and yet they get out competed by teams sponsored by a budget supermarket and a glue factory, amongst others.

Had a ridiculously interesting chat once with a supermarket person about planning around Bank holidays & weather forecasts. They basically have to estimate how many people will be having a BBQ 5-7 days in advance.

I have to confess I am a big fan of the
STPs you can get in the supermarket here.
Cartmel is particularly good but most own brands are nice too!
