I feel this same way about Sebaciel in Black Butler, but at least with that media you're kinda *supposed* to ship them and the creator absolutely does 100% (and so do the Japanese VAs), but antis are just kinda delusional about it and think if they ignore the romantic/sexual subtext it will go away.
