However, according to frame 39 of the Navy Gazette www.jacar.archives.go.jp/das/image/C1..., the Taigei is listed as being at a work site, while the Settsu is in Sasebo.

Matsushima arrived at #Sasebo Naval Arsenal in October 1892. All three sisters took part in the First Sino-Japanese War 1894-5. While serving as flagship to Admiral Itō #Sukeyuki 伊東 祐亨 at the battle of the #YaluRiver, Matsushima took heavy damage and required a short yard period at #Kure. 4/7
