Step 5: Roll Worldshard Regions
Okay, step 5 makes up the rest of the process, as we roll multiple times to determine (a) the environments, (b) unique features of those environments, and (c) point of interests for each region. For efficiency, we'll roll all three for a single region all at once.

Another development diary diving into the latest features in my Foundry implementation of Mongoose Traveller. It now adds speculative trade, freight, passengers, random NPC generation and a random name generator built from RollTables.

I do think you could do some work to streamline chargen (id love to do a rendition of the lifepath system with optional rolltables, a la cyberpunk, and equipment kits can massively speed up item purchasing if you're not picky), but ultimately you probably just have to eat the timesinkiness of it

For wilderness journeys I like allowing players to make choices that modify the random encounter rolltables for when they pass through again in the future, this allows them to participate in crafting the landscape around them.

I’m writing mechanics about weather in my ttrpg campaign setting because travel is possibly an important aspect of travel across the land. What are some of your favorite ways to handle weather in a ttrpg?
