You CAN have this energy and attitude towards art so long as you remember that learning basics/fundamentals is good but art is just art at the end of the day and all humans create and process things differently and you should just let your art be and not push yourself. Enjoy the ride.

i dunno. i think i also just do *not* like 5e. but like. god. i dont want to play 1st level 5e at a real table where i can improvise, why would i want to play it with a computer who enforces the fact that i have nothing interesting to do?

i think theres an exception here for letting you like, vicariously experience a game in singleplayer without having to crunch numbers (the pathfinder games come to mind) but i really dont think 5e is a game that calls for that. + a lot of what seems to be appealing abt 5e is not replicable in a crpg

i think in general the most notable thing about a crpg probably shouldn't be the tabletop system its based on. like, probably the things i tend to like most about crpgs that i enjoyed are... totally ancillary to the ruleset they use
