After making changes to the world generator code, fixing a massive amount of bugs, and rewriting the main menu (again), I decided to add lighting to the game that is identical to the original. I analyzed the original Java code and I honestly don't understand how it was done... #gamedev #Python

I’ve spent the better part of this afternoon rewriting frontmatter and converting “TODOs” lists to “Tasks” across an entire Obsidian vault.

He was leading a team that was rewriting all the Google code to run more efficiently on old metal to save energy (search, Gmail, everything) and then they got marching orders to pivot to AI and he walked. He didn't need the paycheck but loved the work but he finally called it a day
