Photogrammetry is quickly making its way into several of my labs for generic intro analysis. Here’s a scan I did using Polycam3D from my phone (free). For smaller object like this, photogrammetry is better for detail than LiDAR. How do you imagine using like this in lab?

Often when looking at depth maps, it's easy to be fooled by how they look in 2D, so I wanted to use @Polycam3D to make sure I could un-project them into 3D and see if the reconstruction seems reasonable.

I used @Polycam3D to obtain a rough 3D model of the hardware that I could import into blender to overlay my 3D design. This way I was able to spot obvious problems and tweak the design. This worked miracles and the 1st print was spot on.

I'm *really* looking forward to my #History class scanning Queensland suffragist Emma Miller's grave with @Polycam3D. Miller fought for "equal pay and equal opportunity for women and was foundation president of the Woman's Equal Franchise Association."

Added a lidar scan of the 9th century cross slab inside Meifod church, Powys onto @Sketchfab Created with the iPhone 15 lidar sensor & processed with @Polycam3D The slab is thought to have been a grave cover, potentially for one of the Princes of Powys skfb.ly/oPzQT
