#neelix
Things Neelix can get away with saying because he actually cooks the turkey for real. The cost? Almost killing the spaceship with his cheese.

Well they called the character actor part, they just thought the honor would go to Neelix.

In this episode Seven of Nine has a transporter accident and is merged with Neelix nevertheless also convinces Starfleet to let them go back to Risa.

Data would have figured out how to separate Neelix and Tuvoc while preserving Tuvix's life. He would have caught a ride to a new colony and begun his own life.
Beverly Crusher would have guarded Tuvix with a phaser while relieving Janeway of command.

Mealtimes are the best. I like that you're talking to mum, Neelix! 🧡

That reality presumably also coloured how the writers conceived of the in-story moral choice. It seemed better to have a Tuvok and a Neelix than to have one person try to be both.

And it affects how I see it, too.

Well, my position is any being with Neelix inside of it should be murdered for the greater good including Neelix. Other fusions, fine, but Neelix should have been sent out of an airlock as soon as he showed up on Voyager

It is unambiguously true that Tuvix stood in the way of restoring neelix and tuvok to life. It is also unambiguously true he had every right to do that, the same way a woman has a right to an abortion. You cannot compel someone to suffer or die for the sake of another; that choice is theirs alone.

Understandable, but I dunno, I'd take a Neelix episode over a Chakotay episode.

You can sing opera, Neelix!
And mum ❤️ the paws 🐾

it honestly would've made lots of sense if he had! the tuvok side of his personality could've viewed it like a smaller scale version of spock's sacrifice in wrath of khan, and neelix is a very pro-social character who might be on board with that!
December 11, 2025 at 4:01 AM
tuvix did not owe tuvok and neelix his life, and it wasn't janeways decision to make for him. your position is incoherent in any worldview that values bodily autonomy and self determination.

Sulu: Do you think... you could lower down a big... dish of homemade macaroni & cheese?

Neelix: We'll have that down in no time. Do you like powdered Tarkalien garlic?
December 11, 2025 at 3:10 AM
Absolutely, 100% correct: Tuvix was a new person. Tuvok and Neelix were no longer there, effectively dead. Tuvix was in no distress or conflict over his form or mind. Tuvix should have been allowed to live.
December 11, 2025 at 1:53 AM
Janeway decided to be their voice. Theirs, and T'Pel's, who was to far away to be contacted. Kes wanted Neelix back. Tuvok and Neelix had full lives with friends and families. Tuvix was created by accident, and was willing to sacrifice this two lifes to keep existing.
Janeway made the right choice.

Obviously they weren't. It would have been possible to recreate the circumstances that created Tuvix. IF Tuvok and Neelix were part of this Tuvix who asked not to die, they could have asked to be recombined into Tuvix. But they didn't. Also, they were still alive in some form, just unable to speak.

This is a fake not true trend
December 11, 2025 at 12:23 AM
Yes, these are the very rare exceptions.
Joe Carey is dead. Countless others are dead. Tuvok and Neelix weren't when they were merged into Tuvix.
December 11, 2025 at 12:01 AM
spock came back. shaxs came back. data came back. culber came back. kirk came back multiple times. neelix died in mortal coil and came back.

Tuvix was something new, he said himself he regarded Tuvok and Neelix as something akin to parents.
December 10, 2025 at 11:27 PM
Yet his mere existence was killing Tuvok and Neelix.
