Why did Korg design the OpSix with a filter, but then not assign dedicated filter and cutoff knobs? Sometimes it’s handled by the modwheel, which I need for controlling LFO. Sassafras! #synthesizers

I too prefer the in the moment hands on feel.
I like to program a few simple things to follow my keys with cv out from my keylab so after the initial patching period, everything is very reactive to what I'm doing in real time & more organic feeling. Bonus for aftertouch and modwheel cv to mults...

Patch used as promised. Line FM/ 1volt/ slope trigger were gradually introduced/ pulled in and out. The slope cycle was turned on/off and sometimes i'd plug in the keystep 32's modwheel to the slope timer for a more gradual effect.

I couldn't help myself, so I almost finished the repair of the MicroMoog but decided to do a small modification to the LFO, making it possible to switch it to audio range That's what you see me do with the switch under the Modwheel. And yeah... this thing GRAWLS and has A LOT of low end. #synthsky

Watching him "get it" as he played with it reminded me that UI changes an oscillator into an instrument and invites you to touch and play it. Softsynths CAN do that, but IMHO the UI invites different use. "Wacky pianos": Make a sound w/mousing/clicking/saving, then play with keys/pitchbend/modwheel.
