when i worked fast food it destroyed my body and soul, b/c those jobs aren't made for humans and they don't treat you like one. they work like a spare part until you burn out and they swap in a teenager. but at least the merit of my work was right fcking there. i made food for poor ppl.

Advice for healthy posting: Stick to things you've done, are doing, or are planning to do. Non participation is the acute lack of intentionality, so it shouldn't merit the intentionality of posting about it. Doing so, especially if people around you ARE participating, comes off as odd and abrasive

Try not to give them too much merit, our silly human brains love to overthink these things… hence why we cover them in latex xP

Everything is persona, of course, but the deeper we go into the cultural simulacrum the more merit there is in keeping artifice to a minimum, and in trying to asymptotically approach the untouchable limit case of authenticity. It highlights the constant storm of falseness around us if nothing else

Still, what would mark you as fanatically, hatefully loyal enough to merit recruitment as a loyalty officer? Enter the prologue of Squadrons, where the player character is betrayed by their commanding officer to prevent them from massacring Alderaanian refugees. It all fits pretty perfectly.

It feels like the only "competitor" that can stand next to Steam is GOG, entirely on the merit of them providing a specific type of service that steam isn't prioritizing.
I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.

I do believe there's some merit to competition, and to rewarding hard work, but I can't say capitalism works.
The only way it works is very very restrained, and adamant defenders any time someone tries to loosen those restraints.

In light of Paramount's $16 million settlement of Donald Trump's lawsuit against "60 Minutes" that most legal experts agreed was otherwise without merit, it's impossible to look at anything CBS does without also questioning that network's motive and rationale. www.azcentral.com/story/entert...

We know there is no merit here, but its sounds like it's more hateration than fact bc on paper they're the same person!

4.50 ERA in those 13 games. Feels like either or both of two things may be true:
1. They shouldn’t use him so much because he hasn’t been good enough to merit that usage.
2. If they used him less he’d be more effective when he does pitch.

If anyone has read the Lotus Sutra and has anything to say about it, I would appreciate it, and I have it on good authority that, for each word you tell me, you will accumulate merit equivalent to having honoured myriads of kotis of nayutas of Buddhas for every atom in the manifold cosmos.
I had a vastly clearer, more normal concept of what the Lotus Sutra was before I read it.
