"You say you hate the swamp woman
What the hell are you on about?
Do you even know the difference
Between a swamp and an ancient bog?
In a bog you are pickled, in a swamp you would decompose
You're just jealous of her darkened skin and her dainty nose"

Yeah, I'd love for you to create a #MedicalHistory feed! I think people use #histmed #medhist more - I don't know. I know so little about feeds so have never really investigated but as @bschillace.brandyschillace.com pointed out, that's probably where I'm going wrong.

I love this bandage from c.1900 featuring illustrations on how to wrap wounds resulting from accidents involving a soldier, a sailor, a miner, and a woman whose clothes have caught fire. This amazing object is part of the Wellcome Collection in London.

This remarkably detailed wax anatomical model (1787) is housed at the Javier Puerta Museum. Wax models like this were used for teaching anatomy to medical students at a time when few bodies were available for dissection. It demonstrates the merging of art and science. #histmed #medhist #skystorians
