I put fresh button batteries in my little mantle-village’s houses, but I still haven’t located the box of hooked ornaments that go with. (Click for the full photo.) Once I find a fifth building I like, I’ll take ceramic-glaze markers to them to personalize them, and make them rechargeable.

One of my Swedish-est cards, but weirdly manga-esque at the same time? A very Japanese inspired blonde and blue-eyed girl seems to be floating in the air. She has long braids, and is dressed in the manner traditional for the Lucia, eg. white flowy dress with a red sash at the waist, and a holly circlet in her hair, with burning candles set on theat. Behind the Lucia is a Julbok, a traditional straw goat, bound up with red ribbons. The text is God Jul, which is Swedish for Feliz Natal. Which is Portuguese for Frohe Weihnachten. Which is German for Schastlivogo Rozhdestva. Which is Russian for Joyeux Noël. Which is French for.. sorry. It's Merry Christmas. Sorry. That got a little out of hand. Happy Holidays, friends. Den vanligast förekommande upplagan av Vind för våg är Flickorna Julbok 1953, denna utgåva är förkortad. Undvik denna, och försök hitta originalutgåvan från 1951, eller Wahlströms utgåva från 1960.

I follow the moon cycles and not traditional calendar days for 'holidays' - the solstices are important. No specific gods it's who I feel close with, for what purpose / intent of the occasion. Nazi's get fucked btw!
Photo of my altar during Jul dinner. Its a wooden slab table, with a small rabbit fur hide on it with norse runes and symbols painted on the inner skin side. Ontop of that is a wooden plate of braised beer apricot jelly pork roast, with potatoes, green and yellow beans, and homemade bread rolls. Off to the side and above that is another small wooden square bowl of clementine's with whole cloves poked into them. To the left is a horn tall cup filled with a scotch whiskey. In the back are dried flowers, pinecones, an acorn, and 3 differently sized julbok ( yule goats ). Other smaller things around the altar in view, crystal candle holder, small horn cnadle holder, small brass or bronze ship, small metal bronze valkyrie statue. Wood cut out lamp, and an old mead bottle of viking blod

Det här är heeelt sjukt. 2 år (!) efter släpp så ligger Stridens psykologi med på förläggareföreningens topplistor över mest sålda. Spanarna i P1 spådde att den muntra titeln inte skulle bli årets julbok. De hade rätt. Men den är på bra väg att bli ett grundverk inom sitt område.

I was just reminded about one of my favorite Christmas traditions - the Gavle Goat. It is a giant straw goat that is erected every Christmas in Gavle, Sweden and that has been destroyed or damaged in 42 out of 58 years, typically by arson. (1/3)
