As a 3rd world country teen, where original PS2 disks for JRPS where not only imposible to afford but also imposible to find on stores... I was a victim of this.
I was SO invested. I farmed the hell out of it, did all the sidequests, searched for all the secrets, everything... PUM HardLocked! XD

2D jrps have such an extensive list of incredible games.
Without even leaving the era of the snes, you have such classics as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Secret of Mana & Breath of Fire 2. And that's just getting started.

Maybe an outlier with how many trucks DMB uses, but this was a logistical nightmare for parents whose kids attend camps in JRPS. To say nothing of regular residents’ access. Proper site planning should have addressed this access requirement.

new game, backlog manager, you have to keep juggling the player's games according to their free time and interests over time. Uh oh, the player really wants JRPs now, but only has an hour a day this week, which game in the collection fits best????

Nice! :3 thanks for the info, yes I plan on continuing with the series in the future. I want to play as many jrps (Or just video games in general, but I prioritize jrpgs because they tend to have longer stories, which I like) as possible in my life.

Honestly it sounds like you could use a Miyoo Mini v4 (or Plus) with Onion loaded onto it- it's kind of a game changer.
It takes 14 seconds from powered off to being in-game- and can automatically save / resume the game's state, perfect for short bursts like that. I've been using it for old JRPs.

That Clair has done so good is a validation of that style of game, not a refutation of a genre it clearly loves.
It's the thing I would point to to say "See!" in response to people suggesting jrps are outdated, bad or can't do well in the west anymore.
