Okay, with the news that Bill Pulte is on the short-list for HUD secretary, does anyone have any insights into potential #housing policies he might prioritize?

It appears he purged all of his twitter posts prior to this past weekend 🤨

Don't fall for the cranks. Rising inventory is how prices go down, & always has been.

Yes, a lot of developers aren't going to be happy about selling right now. Provincial & city govs need to keep the pressure on by upzoning & lowering costs to keep construction going.

The founding premise RTB is owning is ‘better’ than renting & a house creates a store of wealth & an inheritance. Driving prices incessantly upwards. Creating social divide & supply side constraint.

We’re in the habit of permitting things that don’t get built.

If a housing type isn’t financially viable — if it can’t get built under current costs, fees, and approvals — then the policy framework isn’t working. #Multiplexes #HousingSupply

4/8 Statistics show 22% of residential construction workers will retire in 8 years—259,100 workers—but only 228,100 new entrants are projected. This threatens Canada's goal of building 5.8 million homes by 2030 to restore affordability.

3/10 GOAL 1: DOUBLE CONSTRUCTION PACE. We've built ~227,000 homes yearly over the past decade.

We need to double this rate to 4 million homes in the coming years by transforming how we build and unlocking private capital.
