this week's #showMeYourKnits 🧶prompt is "hands". I've knitted a lot of mitts over the years, and only one pair of gloves!

my first FO of 2026 is mitts, in fact.

There's a giant community sale next to our apartment complex, and we're going to go check it out! We've gone three years in a row, and they always have incredible goodies (I got a handknitted neon pink purse there last year!). Then getting the house cleaned up for a visit from my Uncle.

The other project, which may in fact take 200 Sammo films to finish, is to knit this incredible jumper designed by the legendary Mandy McIntosh, which features the Glasgow Coat of Arms depicted in Aran knitting. It shows the four components of the city of Glasgow's coat of arms: a fish with bobble stitch making the scale texture, a tree with cabled trunk and branches and leaves knitted separately then sewn on, a bird perched at the top of the tree and a ring held in the fish's mouth. Genuinely an absolute work of art

That depends on what your plans are, but 100% polyester made in Vietnam shirts and handknitted sweaters are largely speaking different market segments. You have *always* been good at making people feel welcome and cherished. Why not try showing off making art in different places?

A year that was tough in its own way, so I made ten more pairs of socks than last year to keep my hands busy…
