Arcadia absolutely lit me up the first time I saw it, Travesties was dizzying, and Shooting The Past might be as close to perfect as British TV of the time could be.

still indie week for #showMeYourKnits so it's time to talk about The Woolly Tangle! Wonderful colours, wonderful bases, I'm particularly susceptible to their merino/yak/silk blend. I love the way a bit of yak mutes the colours and silk makes it strong and gives it a sheen

Happy #wipWednesday! Tagging #showMeYourKnits 🧶 as well because the shawl in progress is by indie designer BooKnits (Ravelry only, sadly) in indie dyed gradient yarn from Bilum, and the socks are in yarn from indie dyer Corner of Craft/Chromatic Yarns

Thanks, grandad. I just won a small prize on Premium Bonds that I didn't know I still had, that were given to me when I was born.

I suspect I still have them because 10 is too few to do anything with these days

indie week for #showMeYourKnits 🧶so today I'm highlighting Corner of Craft, who dyes yarn as Chromatic Yarns, mostly with delightfully geeky inspirations. I've got a lot of her D&D inspired yarns, but she's also got a Stardew Valley collection chromaticyarns.co.uk/collections/...

look I'm working on the cables
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Pez is an absolutete fucking delight and I wish I had enough money to dig her out. Come dig with me, if you can?
You know how you have that friend who just cannot catch a break right now and you really wish you could do just about anything for them? Yeah, that's currently one of my best friends. So once again sharing, because this week has been shit: gofund.me/50a9b0fa1

I didn't have the patience to be a music teacher, or the skill and dedication to be a professional musician, and I'd made a few basic fansites for actors (hand coded HTML in notepad and FTP uploads), so I applied for a graduate trainee placement as a software developer

Argonaut Books are a truly fab bookshop with a lovely cafe and beautifully curated stock. Please support them if you can, this feels like an intentional move from Waterstones to push a competitor out of business.

@bookbugs.bsky.social and @portalbookshop.bsky.social can you share this please?
We need your help.

@waterstones.bsky.social, without any direct communication with us, will be opening their 6th Edinburgh branch less than 100 metres from our front door at the Foot of the Walk in Leith.

Please read on for more information

Around 3,000 pups are expected to be born this winter. Thanks to your support, our rangers are able to monitor their numbers to help us understand and protect this important population.

Everyone deserves healthcare (including the right to safe legal abortion), a safe place to live, a roof over their head, enough food to eat and clothes enough to be comfortable. Trans people are not a threat and no human being is illegal.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

this week's prompt for #showMeYourKnits 🧶is Floof, and while I'm not exactly allergic to either alpaca or mohair, both make me itch. So the closest I get to floof is cashmere, usually in a cashmere silk blend, which feels wonderfully decadent and is accordingly rare (because cost)
