#enshiffication
@thechris I saw the joke

Does Microsoft understand consent?

‘Yes’ | ‘Ask me later’

Works for any #enshiffication factory.

When I put “Xmas tree” on my
to Do list, my iPhone generously suggested that a good date to schedule christmas would be 12/25. So that was helpful.

It's a vicious cycle, LLMs make search worse, worse search makes LLMs look better, repeat to hyper-enshiffication.

My personal answer to the enshiffication of the internet was to get off of the internet for the most part

I assume this is AI enshiffication in sports. This game didn't go into OT. It's missing possessions, etc.

In the realm of AI issues, this doesn't crack the top 100. But it is annoying and is bound to get many complaints. How hard is it to pay an intern to log game stats?

Oh, the absolute #enshiffication of #Duolingo is they FORCED me to play a game called "White Out", that I didn't want to play, which also FORCED me to massacre a bunch of ICE BEARS! I don't want to slaughter ice bears :( I'm so traumatized.

Walmart’s entire business model is enshiffication of communitites
1. Use low prices to undercut local businesses
2. Jack up pricing after eliminating the competition
3. Suck up even more tax dollars as under-paid employees use SNAP to shop at Walmart

Did no one read Ehrenreich’s Nickel and Dimed?

if we're all being conditioned to associate AI and the different brands/products with slop/enshittification - and, to be clear, it looks like the entire tech market is pro-enshiffication rather than "things that work" so those same assholes bear much of the blame - it's going to be an uphill battle

My attitude toward Bluesky: founded by the founder of twitter, which was a haven for Nazis long before Musk Bluesky is currently seeking venture capital. Enshiffication is longterm inevitable, But until then, (which could be a decade away) I am here.

This is reminiscent of the platform decay, the #enshiffication about which Cory Doctorow so eloquently writes.

I wonder how much of the "enshiffication" of retail and restaurant/fast food chains is due to similar guttings.

I am deeply upset with whatever the fuck is going with Taco Cabana (a mainly TX tex-mex chain). Its tailspin in quality is beyond imagination.
"Golden Gate crippled Red Lobster by selling off one of its most valuable assets, the real estate it owned, in what’s known as a sale-leaseback, for $1.5 billion. With that sale, Golden Gate nearly made back its $2.1 billion purchase of Red Lobster, while turning the chain into a permanent leaser"
The Raiding of Red Lobster
The bankrupt casual restaurant chain didn’t fail because of Endless Shrimp. Its problems date back to monopolist seafood conglomerates and a private equity play.

WHY is my laptop, connected to cabled earphones, not up to the task of blowing my nuts off my body? WHAT IS GOING ON? I get the enshiffication of everything - but VOLUME? Excuse me. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK We're in a death spiral.
