Conflicts of this nature were not of a pre-existing condition but display a new relationship subject to contingency. Contingent choice is always equivocal. These intersubjective conflicts find resolution in an antagonizing state of disequilibrium where individuals are no longer equal.

Species shift their ranges in response to climate change, but many can't keep up. The resulting "community-climate disequilibrium" can impair ecosystem function and cause counterintuitive dynamics, like short-term gain but long-term loss onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
Linking Community‐Climate Disequilibrium to Ecosystem Function
When turnover in species composition lags behind the pace of climate change, community-climate disequilibrium increases. We, for the first time, explicitly link this disequilibrium to ecosystem funct...

Same samples. Same processing run. Same artifact pattern.

Linkage disequilibrium between chromosomes = technical error, not biology.

Batch Effects Are Hiding in Your Variant Calls

I thought my QC was solid.

Then I found thousands of "variants" that weren't real.

The signal? Variants on different chromosomes showing linkage disequilibrium.

That's impossible in real biology.

Is the thing its logical endpoint or the experience of the thing in the real present?

As an economist, long run equilibrium is an interesting thought experiment but life is lived in perpetual disequilibrium.

Let's think of the Earth's (outer) core heating as a *loop* (geodynamo) and consider tectonic rifts and shifts as the relief of *excess* energy from that *loop*. Is it possible to extract "too much" energy to create a disequilibrium of the Earth's (outer) core loop? What would be the […]

“The Onion Disequilibrium” restated. Hard to be a purveyor of satire when real events are themselves practically impossible to distinguish.

New paper! The nucleation and growth of bubbles in magmas tends to induce disequilibrium in terms of CO2 and H2O. Our new downloadable code can be used to solve such cases. A fuller picture of how bubbles form and grow. I hope it’s useful.

## Hyper-Resolution Kinetic Modeling of Selective Crystal Growth Inhibition via Nanoscale Reactive Transport Simulation
**Abstract:** Current crystalline growth inhibition strategies lack a fundamental understanding of kinetic disequilibrium zones at the nanoscale where inhibitors preferentially interact. This paper presents a novel, coupled reactive transport and kinetic Monte Carlo (KTMC) model, termed “Kinetic Resolution Growth Inhibition Simulation” (KRGIS), for simulating selective crystal growth inhibition at unprecedented resolution. KRGIS predicts inhibitor binding probabilities and growth rate modulation with 10x accuracy compared to existing macroscopic models, enabling targeted inhibitor design and optimized growth control for high-performance materials.
