❤️
They're striking birds, aren't they... Distinctive songs, and very territorial. I was amazed to find this one sharing a tree with a kookaburra and lorikeets the other day.

Someone (not us!) quite frequently gives our Australian Raven a slice of white bread which it then soaks in our birdbath.😐 There’s a Currawong chick in the eucalypt above which wouldn’t mind sharing. It’s out of luck. #birds #wildlife

That's really interesting. From the posted image, they do look as if they would behave like a Eurasian magpie with unabashed boldness. I find it fascinating that the pied currawong has a different character!

I’ve been out watering this evening and a currawong just flew down and perched in the camellia, watching and waiting for me to leave perhaps. They are very wary birds, unlike the magpies.

I saw a pied currawong flying from gum to gum just over the fence line whilst listening to thornbills cheeping, magpies carolling and the ubiquitous lorikeets whistling on this gorgeous sunny morning. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

Ha! I’m not the only one who hears it like that! Yes, Pied Currawong I reckon. Adorable birds.

There is a bird calling from the tree in my backyard and my brain deciphered it as “Fuck yeah!”
(I think it’s a Pied Currawong, as I can see them scratching around in the garden.)

Last week a currawong very politely tapped on my office window and proudly showed me the leaf it had in its beak.
