If we get an early enough warning of a Carrington-sized event heading our way, the smart thing may be to run to your circuit panel and turn off the main breaker to protect household electronics: your TV, HVAC system, computers, microwave, washer/dryer, etc.

The last time I got covid I had to be given steroids. chronic pain level is so massive,daily that when covid is added on top of that it's like my nervous system is a circuit breaker that can't handle the stress. I went hysterical. what sucks is steroids= Great for inflammation. BAD for immune sys.😞

It is possible that the line which had the least load when the surge occurred was not tripped, or burnt out, in your case.

There are no breaker switches in the whole place?
