Apparently when you go to pay a monthly tax bill early, the government considers that an additional payment, and will continue to charge you on the day your bill is originally due. I did not know that.

If anyone wants some art commissions, my commissions are open.

They’re medics, social workers, neighbors and 911. Meet the health care workers who do it all. – The Washington Post
In an increasingly complex world, the boundaries of traditional roles are constantly blurring. Nowhere is this more evident than in the realm of health care, where a compelling new reality is emerging. We’re witnessing a quiet revolution on the front lines, led by individuals who are far more than just medics. They are indeed medics, social workers, neighbors, and often the first point of contact for someone in crisis—a true embodiment of "doing it all." This multifaceted approach isn't just an admirable trait; it’s becoming an essential pillar of effective community support and public health.

INTRODUCING
The easy town books

The overall story of the easy town books is simple: a town experiment is planned in several stages, the town is built, the town gets into trouble & some of the main characters mess things up.🧵

New tech is blurring boundaries:

• Employers can archive messages on work phones
• Teams may auto-update your location when you join the office WiFi
• Security teams can see far more than before
Monitoring isn't new. What is new is the precision, automation and invisibility of it.

Why did they hide these losers' identities with face blurring?!? If they're the master race, they should be proud to show their faces and stand behind their beliefs.

The bit that jumped out for me, is the park used to have segregated cycle and walking spaces, but removed them. Presumably to save cash on maintaining the differentiation.

Separating different classes of users is just good sense. Blurring leads to problems that result in this sort of weirdness.

The boundary is blurring. The prizes are going to be claimed by humans, but the precise provenance of every word is going to be hard to prove because it is a combination of author, LLM, editor, editor LLM and so on.

But for many texts, even books, a "good enough bunch of words" will do just fine.

Students Help Bring James Webb Into Focus
A pair of Sydney PhD students helped sharpen the view of humanity's most powerful space observatory – without leaving Earth. The remarkable technical breakthrough saw the development of a software fix that corrected blurring in images made by NASA's multibillion-dollar James Webb Space Telescope, restoring crisp performance to one of its vital scientific instruments – all without the need for a space mission or astronaut repair. To take us on a deep dive, those students - Max Charles and Louis Desdoigts - are beaming in.
