The bridge connects downtown Vancouver via Stanley Park to the North Shore municipalities of West Vancouver and North Vancouver. Opened in 1939, it is a suspension bridge with a total length of 1517 meters, featuring twin towers and two pedestrian/cyclist sidewalks. Designated a National Historic Site of Canada, it is recognised for its elegant design, symbolic value to the city, and its role in the development of the North Shore.

Extra Info: Vancouver's Gastown Steam Clock is a whimsical landmark in Gastown, a historic neighborhood. It's a clock that, though it looks like an antique, was built in 1977 and powered by steam from the city's heating system. The clock's most recognizable feature is its steam whistle, which chimes the Westminster quarters every 15 minutes and emits a puff of steam on the hour. Steam Powered (but not really!) The clock utilizes steam from the city's district heating system, driving a miniature steam engine inside. Westminster Chimes: The clock sounds the Westminster quarters every 15 minutes, a common clock chime melody. Hour Signals: On the hour, the clock whistles a cheerful tune and emits steam from all the pipes. Historical Context: The clock was built in Gastown to cover a steam grate, part of the city's district heating system, and to make effective use of the steam. Tourist Attraction: The Gastown Steam Clock is a popular tourist attraction, drawing crowds with its steam whistle and the charming display of steam.
