Bury Market, from 2022
Beautiful fabrics decorated with embroidery, flowers and sparkles, and for sale on a stall at #Bury Market in 2022. Yes, dear viewer, I did succumb and make a purchase or two!
#AlphabetChallenge #WeekOforOpulent #fabric #markets #Lancashire #marketstalls #textiles
A colour photograph in landscape format. It shows a view up to lots of colourful fabric hanging from coat hangers on a post near the ceiling. Many of the fabrics are decorated with gold and silver thread, so even under these stark light bulbs, they still sparkle beautifully.

Let this gorgeous sunset seep deep into your soul & let your spirit bath in it’s beauty.

A breathtakingly beautiful sunset in all shades of gold, bright orange, a few hues of a light grey with very light pinkish traces is taking place behind some old houses in a little village on the countryside on a late summer evening. On the left side some leaves of a tree are touching the sky. The clouds in the sky look like someone splish-splashed with great joy color onto the blue sky and painted some thick and thin streaks of opulence to the sky. Plain and simple a gorgeous spectacle of Mother Nature!

When I came upon this wonderful grove of lenga trees in Argentinian Patagonia, I could not pass up the opportunity. The dead branches & beautiful black trunks add an interesting graphical element to a sea of autumn colors.

Hollinhurst Park Early this morning covered in a blanket of fog
A black and white photo of a football field at Hollinhurst Park in Radcliffe covered in a blanket of fog.
The field is lined with trees that are barely visible.
A young boy wearing dark clothes stands alone on the right looking down at the ground.
He was actually with a group from a football club out of sight that were inspecting the pitch.

Irish Autumnal/ Fall capture for #Stunday May you have a very restful and peaceful Sunday.

"And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings".

WB Yeats.

A serene autumn Irish woodland scene with tall trees standing on a gently sloping hill. Their leaves glow in rich shades of copper, orange, and deep brown, carpeting the forest floor beneath them. Through the trees, a few sheep graze in the distance under a soft, misty sky, adding a peaceful, pastoral touch to the golden landscape.

So yellow
So mellow 😊

Have a lovely Sunday wherever you find yourself today
A close-up macro photograph of a vibrant flower bud partially open, revealing rich yellow and orange petals with delicate textures and veins. Tiny water droplets rest on the petals, reflecting light and adding a fresh, dewy look. The outer petal edges show a soft gradient from coral-pink to golden yellow, while the background is softly blurred with green foliage, emphasizing the vivid bloom in sharp focus.

Urban Vibrancy
for #Stunday

(Android phone camera)
Photograph taken using a macro setting at the back of a building in town. Some red valerian had self-seeded and was flourishing.

Deep turquoise painted wall in the background with a pink-purple flowerhead of Red Valerian as the focus point, offset to the right of frame. The flower head is made up of many tiny flowers. A few mid-green, thin and straight leaves fan out below.

Loved the vibrant colour contrast in a season where traditionally colours are gentler.

Mist rolls soft on twilight’s shore.
Troubled thoughts drift out no more.
Foam-kissed waves in hush retreat.
Cradling calm beneath bare feet.
Sunlight bends through skies of gold.
Wounds grow quiet, hands yet hold.
In the tide’s slow, even sweep.
The world exhales and finds its sleep.

Early this morning at Elton Reservoir in the fog
Looking down a gravel path that is next to a reservoir on the right and a grassy bank on the left that drops down to fields
The whole view is enveloped in a blanket of fog.
All that can be seen in the path and a lone figure all in black in the distance.

So excited for this week’s #BlueSkyArtShow with the theme of #glow! These are from Smith Island, a small inhabited island in the Chesapeake Bay. There are only about 200 residents on the island, but they’re pure gold!

Morning All !

Happy #Stunday everyone 🌞 I've taken a dive into my archive for this one...

Coral Beach at Claigan and Loch Dunvegan, Isle of #Skye, #Scotland. May 2017

The beach is not made from coral ! More in Alt Text

#Landscape #Seascape #Photography #EastCoastKin
Beneath a stormy looking sky the sandy beach glows in a patch of sunlight. The sand leads down to the choppy, turquoise and dark green waters of Loch Dunvegan (a sea loch).
The dazzling white ‘sand’ of Claigan Coral Beach, that can be seen in many photos, is in fact not sand. It’s also not coral. It’s formed by the deposit of small pieces of ‘coralline’ hard seaweed called maerl that is crushed by wave action, dried and sun bleached on the shore.

This is an important habitat the Maerl beds are purply-pink when alive. They are a marine nature conservation priority in Scottish waters as they are an important habitat for small marine plants and animals including young scallops.

So i'm combining it with #WeekOforOpulent of the #AlphabetChallenge to show Heaton Hall in all four seasons of its exterior opulence

Sadly its interior is a very different story
